Birdemic

I've been told I have to create a blog where I put "Film Reviews" of any films I've seen. So here is my blog. And here is my first "film review". Could hardly call it a review, more of a "I like this, but I didn't like this", but perhaps in time, I shall get better at writing film reviews.

BIRDEMIC

Birdemic is a horror set in small town USA about birds attacking in swarms for no apparent reason. A group of people set out to defeat the birds.

My overall response to the film was one of utter confusion. I knew it was going to be terrible, it most likely was intentional for it to be, but what even for? There's even a sequel, which is apparently worse on the scale of how intentional it's terribleness is.

I thought that the lead character was quite poorly developed, he's just portrayed as a stereotypical average sort of nerdy dude, and he does just that. My favourite character/s in the film are the birds that fly down to the ground and explode in fiery chaos, they are hilariously random.

The bit that engaged me the most was in the credits, where four characters are just standing on the beach watching birds fly towards the horizon for like five minutes, not even moving. I was kind of expecting them to do something, like start dancing or something. Who knows. Perhaps they were internally.

There were plenty of moments that caused me to disengage from the film, mostly due to the sheer unprofessionalism of the film, all its terrible points were very distracting.

Strengths? What can I say? The make up was alright (I guess)

Weaknesses? EVERYTHING. The audio is lost at some points, and the levels change from shot to shot. The acting is poor, the camera work looks like a 3 year old shot it.

Do I have to rate these films? On the Kimberley Scale - Hmmmmm 3 Nyan Cats out of 10 Nyan Cats.
____________

Quite short film review today as I originally wrote in my book which takes up a great deal of space. I do feel inclined to write an awful lot more when I do so electronically, with far more descriptive paragraphs, so I expect the next film I review would look less like a 12 year old wrote it. I am tired and I've been in class staring at a screen for 7 hours. Good night, people, go and pat a cat for me.
