I looked through the casting call and found a couple of people that might fit various roles for my trailer project.
The class had a meeting to sort out issues regarding our shoots, and it was pretty thorough. It was great, and now everybody is more aware of what everybody is doing. Stuff's getting done, yo! We've planned some kind of call back casting call thing, and we're meeting on Thursday to arrange that.
I also got the Sony F55 camera out, just to "play around" with it. I've been 1st AC a bunch of times with it, but never really had a chance to just chill with the camera and see what I can do with it by myself. I'm going to be Camera op on two or three different shoots with it in the weeks ahead, so I figured it might be useful to get some more experience with it, to refresh myself yadda yadda yadda. Here's a screengrab of my bag, taken in my lounge that has terrible lighting, proving that I managed to stick a lens on it, find the record button, record something, and offload it (yayyyyy).

I met with Don today and spent nearly three hours going over the shots and what not for my trailer. We've come up with about 25 shots so far, and decided to come back to it (the deciding of shots) after I've gotten in touch with the other people in my project about what is and what isn't achievable for them, mostly in regards to the animation in the trailer.
Also me and animator friend just had a really interesting conversation with a 10 year old. A 10 year old! Wowee, I wish more 10 year olds were like that. He knew his stuff!

Imagine this scene but Leslie has brown hair and there's a bunch of flying flowers.
Heaps of communication has been happening on the Facebook page, we need to get shooting schedules sorted, so I suggested that we discuss this on Thursday when we sort out call backs.

^ That
I need to find Don.
Photography
Today we went to the studio and played out with long exposures and painting with light. In order to get both the light trails and the subject lit, we had a flash go off at a certain point during each exposure. It made some pretty interesting photos!!!
We also looked at multiple exposure, meaning taking two photos taken are merged together in camera to create one photograph. Result A + Result B = Result C
If Dan and Virat had a baby...

Thursday
Trailer
Me, Sarah, Lee and Tony went out to a bunch of different locations today, scouting for more possible shooting locations.
Also, we had another meeting, to discuss shooting dates for everyone.
If we were to start on the 7th of September (Which is what's we've planned, with Lee's short, it looks like it's going to be a really tight squeeze, if all of us were to use all our 4 allowed shooting dates, one after the other. We'd be finishing shooting literally the day it's due, which is on the 21st of October. Big class, this year. I've sacrificed one of my days, but that's just one day. Most people have a much bigger project than me, and would need all four days. It doesn't leave much time for editing, still.
Stress. I'm concerned for a couple of my classmates, they do not handle stress in any way that's good. It hurts me to see them hurting.

Yesterday was full of... well... Full of emotion, I guess. Class was pretty much class in the morning, but by 6pm, I had noone left for my camera department. Meaning, I don't have a camera department. I was awfully stressed and sleep deprived at some point, and something my DoP said just made me snap. I may have been a bit too harsh in the sense, so I apologised and removed myself from the room to calm myself down. I go back, only to get told that they will not work on my project anymore. Ahh. Not only is there nobody available to operate the camera for my project, but now my DoP isn't there.
At this point I'm almost in tears, and seeking solitude, I eventually found myself bundled up amongst the costumes and the pillows and the random bed in the old Twirlie's wardrobe department. Sometimes one just needs to take time away from commitments and responsibilities, to better one's mind and happiness.
Later on I found my way inside some random person's house. Friends are great, as are hugs, and hugs with friends are even better. They needed a hug just as much as I did, for their own reasons. It was grand. And thus our plan to just chill and watch teh funnehs ensued. I almost feel asleep by the time we decided to not watch any more. Almost.
Early this morning I had a brief meeting with a potential actress for the Witch character. She seems lovely, but there might be a bit of a scheduling issue. Ah. More scheduling issues.
I also drew up some more storyboards, and fell asleep on my chair while I was doing so. Thought a walk would wake me up, but it did not.
My brain is clearly at its limits. Flat car battery, and the worse driving I've ever done, a result of everything taking its toll on my concentration. Three more months, Three more months....

More storyboards. I also got streetpass from Aaron. He seems chirpy, today.

Okay, thanks Kimberley. If you like, I am happy to touch base this week before Friday - just let me know!
